RABONG/LABONG

”Rabong” or labong
in Tagalog, is another Ilocano Cuisine. I know it is not familiar to all. So here
are the procedures needed in preparing for the delicious Labong of Ilocanos.

Ingredients:
3 cups labong – sliced, boiled for 30 minutes and drained
fried fish – it can be bangus (milkfish) or besugo or tilapia or any fried fish (own choice)
saluyot
1/2 cup fish bagoong
pinch of magic sarap
3 cups of water

Procedure:
a. Bring water to boil. Add the bagoong, labong, fish and magic sarap. Simmer for 10-15 minutes.

b. Add the saluyot, let it boil and simmer for 2-4 minutes.
